Leadership and Transition Advisory

I work with leaders whose organization faces a new mandate, a leadership handoff, or a model under real pressure: diagnosing the structural problem behind the symptoms, designing the operating model that replaces what is broken, and building the coalition to make the change stick. I keep what works and move the hard things by influence, not decree.
Association and Membership Strategy
Make the value your members feel match the value you deliver. Most membership organizations are not short on value; they are short on relevance, because member need, organizational priority, and where the resources actually go have drifted apart. I help leaders see that drift, name their least-substitutable value, and re-align the organization to the members it exists to serve, working directly on the engagement and retention that keep membership from becoming optional.
Advocacy and Coalition-Building
Turn a shared position into an outcome, through people you cannot command. Advocacy and coalition work is won by aligning parties who do not report to you and do not always agree. Drawing on interagency work from the White House and coalition-building across programs in 54 states, I help organizations build the coalition, align competing interests, and protect the collective goods that individual members chronically under-invest in.
